Chester, Empire, Chiltern, Regency and Sussex Explained
Returning customers who used our previous website may notice that the Chester, Empire, Chiltern, Regency and Sussex traditional radiator covers options are no longer listed under those names.
Most of these styles have not been discontinued. We have simply changed how our radiator covers are organised and customised.
On our previous website, names such as Empire and Chiltern referred to the decorative detailing used around the cabinet. On the new website, you choose your radiator cover design and cabinet detailing separately. This gives you greater flexibility to combine your preferred front design with the surrounding detail that best complements your room.
Below, we explain the new equivalent of each former detailing option.
Chester Is Now Best Matched by Essential
The closest current alternative to our former Chester detailing is Essential, which was previously known as Sussex.
Although Essential does not include the exact Chester trim as standard, it offers the closest overall appearance within our current online range. Customers looking to match an existing Chester radiator cover should therefore select Essential during the customisation process.
We can still manufacture the original Chester trim as a made-to-order option. Please contact our team before placing your order and provide a photograph of your existing radiator cover. We can confirm the detailing and arrange for the Chester trim to be added to your new cabinet.
Sussex Is Now Essential
The former Sussex detailing option is now called Essential.
Essential provides the clean, understated cabinet finish previously offered under the Sussex name. Its simple appearance makes it easy to introduce into both traditional and contemporary rooms without adding excessive decoration.
To reorder the equivalent of an older Sussex radiator cabinet, select Essential detailing during customisation.
Empire Is Now Classic
Our former Empire cabinet detailing is now called Classic.
The name has changed, but the familiar Empire-style detailing remains available. Returning customers who would like to reorder a radiator cover matching a previous Empire cabinet should select Classic during the customisation process.
You can combine Classic detailing with your preferred radiator cover design, grille and finish.
Chiltern Is Now Heritage
The former Chiltern detailing option is now known as Heritage.
Heritage retains the familiar decorative character associated with our Chiltern cabinets. It is a versatile choice for traditional homes, period properties and rooms where subtle furniture-style detailing is required.
To match a radiator cover previously ordered with Chiltern detailing, select Heritage when customising your new cabinet.
Regency Is Now Luxury
Our previous Regency cabinet detailing has been renamed Luxury.
This option provides the more decorative and substantial appearance previously associated with the Regency range. It works particularly well in formal living rooms, hallways, period interiors and other spaces where the radiator cover is intended to become a prominent piece of furniture.
Previous Regency customers should now choose Luxury detailing when placing a repeat or matching order.
Please note that this change applies to the surrounding cabinet detailing. Regency may still appear elsewhere on our website as the name of a decorative grille pattern.

How to Reorder a Previous Radiator Cover Style
When ordering through our new website, begin by selecting the radiator cover design or grille pattern you prefer. You can then choose the surrounding cabinet detailing separately.
The current equivalents are:
- Chester is best matched by Essential.
- Sussex is now Essential.
- Empire is now Classic.
- Chiltern is now Heritage.
- Regency is now Luxury.
Separating the front design from the cabinet detailing gives you more freedom to create a radiator cover that suits your interior while still making it possible to reproduce most of our previous combinations.
