The Difference Between the Regency and Chiltern Radiator Cabinets
Wondering about the difference between chiltern or regency radiator cabinets? The main difference in the styling of each cabinet relates to the skirting board detail. You’ll notice on the image below, the skirting board returns around the side of the Chiltern cabinet. Some customers don’t like two different skirting board details meeting. In which case, they opt for the Regency. The Regency style does not feature the same return detail. Instead, the side panel fits over the existing skirt. As you can see in the next image.
You will notice the Regency Radiator Cabinet has extra upright stiles. Here, the skirting detail buts up against these stiles. This detail doubles the thickness of the front panel. This creates a much heavier and thicker-set cabinet. This thicker-set detail means the Regency can look better proportionally on larger radiators – over 150cm wide.
When deciding between a chiltern or regency radiator cabinet, consider these details. Think about what will work for your home. And the space you are transforming, in particular.
